Searching for Current Session Legislation

This "Quick Bill Search" searches for legislation from the most current legislative session. Legislation is indexed each week night during the session's duration and for the ten working days after session adjournment.

You may search using text (i.e. Revenue and Taxation) or by entering a bill number (see examples below). These searches will return all results in which the search criteria is contained within the text of the bill.

To search for a specific bill number, or bill type, you should use the following examples:

  • h0*, H0*, s1* or S1* - To search for all House or Senate bills
  • h0001*, or H0456* - To search for a specific House bill
  • S1001*, or s1456* - To search for a specific Senate bill
  • hcr*, HCR*, scr* or SCR* - To search for all House or Senate concurrent resolutions
  • hjm*, HJM*, sjm* or SJM* - To search for all House or Senate joint memorials
  • hjr*, HJR*, sjr* or SJR* - To search for all House or Senate joint resolutions
  • hp*, HP*, sp* or SP* - To Search for all House or Senate proclamations
  • hr*, HR*, sr* or SR* - To search for all House or Senate resolutions

Please note: House and Senate bills are denoted with a four digit number. House bills left justify with zeros (0). For example, House Bill No. 1 would be denoted as H0001. House Bill No. 11 would be deonted H0011 and House Bill No. 111 would be denoted as H0111. Senate bills begin numbering at 1001 and do not require extra zeros. For example, Senate Bill No.1001 would be denoted as S1001, Senate Bill No.1011 would be denoted as S1011 and Senate Bill No. 1111 would be denoted as S1111.

Resolutions, Memorials and Proclamations are all denoted with a three digit number. For example, House Concurrent Resolution No. 1 would be denoted as HCR001, Senate Joint Resolution No. 111, would be denoted as SJR111 and House Proclamation No. 1 would be denoted as HP001.
