Legislative Council

The Legislative Council oversees the management responsibilities and permanent staff of the Legislature. The Council, established in 1963, consists of the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the majority and minority leaders of each house and four senators and four representatives - two from each party - appointed by the parties of the Senate and House. The Legislative Council meets twice annually, once in the spring and once in the fall.
